Syncopated pedalling is the most common kind of pedalling and yet the most abused.  Follow these steps closely, and you will be pedalling like a pro:

1. Slap your right lap with your right hand.

2. Slap it again and again counting slowly to 4 for each slap.

3. On 1, slap your thigh and lift your foot (like using a gas pedal - keep heel on the floor).  On 2, put your foot down.  Keep hand on lap and foot down for counts 3 and 4.  Repeat many times.
